Description of content:   

 

This module discusses the operation of the slit lamp biomicroscope and the slit lamp camera.

 

Instructional  objectives:  Upon completion of  this course,  the student should be able to:

  • identify the parts and controls of the slit lamp microscope and the slit lamp camera

  • describe how to use the controls of the slit lamp

  • describe how to use the controls of the slit lamp camera

  • identify and describe viewing techniques used with the slit lamp

  • describe alternative methods of photography if a slit lamp camera is not available

   
 

About the Author: 

 

Gary Gallimore is a certified ophthalmic technologist who assists with research at the Eye Foundation of Kansas City and works for a large multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in the metro area of Kansas City.   He has taught CE courses for many years on all subjects of ophthalmic technology.
