If the printing and graphics on your screen seem too big or too small, you can easily change the resolution on your monitor.  The modules are designed to be viewed at a screen resolution of about 1024 x 768 pixels.  These directions are for Windows XP, but earlier version are similar.

How to change the screen resolution for Windows:

• Go to the desktop and put your mouse pointer on a blank portion of the screen.  Right click your mouse.
• Click on "properties" on the dialog box that pops up.
• A "display properties" dialog box will come up.  Click on "settings".
• There will be a slider called "screen resolution"  that allows you to change display "pixels" to more or less.
• Increase the pixels to increase the resolution on the screen.  When you do this there will be room for more information on the screen, but it will appear smaller.
• Decrease the pixels to decrease the resolution on the screen.  When you do this there will be less room for information on the screen, but it will appear larger.
• For optimum viewing of the module information, move the slider to match 1024 x 768 as closely as you can.
• Watch the graphic on the page as you move the slider, some settings give distorted proportions depending upon your particular monitor.  You want a setting that has the correct proportions for your monitor.
• Click "ok" to save changes.

Some internet "accelerators" download pictures at a reduced resolution to "speed up" your internet connection.  The photos on this site have already been optimized, so you will want to download them at full resolution.  To do this, go to your accelerator software and change the image setting to full resolution while you are using eyetec.net.  You can usually find a link to this software on your lower menu bar.

Updates to webpages:

Updates to eyetec.net webpages (or any webpages) may not occur unless you clear the webpage "history" in your web browser.  Web browsers "cache" (save) the webpages that you visit, up to a limit.  This allows the webpages to load faster when you come back to them, but the browser may present the "old" page even though you use "refresh".  You should clear the history periodically, especially when you think you may be missing something that should have been updated. 

To clear the history (and the temporary internet files), follow these steps.  These instructions are for Internet Explorer, but other browsers are similar.

• On the upper toolbar, click "tools"
• Click "internet options"
• Next to "browser history", click "delete"
• On the popupwindow, click "delete history", and "delete temporary internet files"
• Click OK
